Air Quality Monitoring

Eagle has full-service air quality monitoring capabilities, specifically in ambient air monitoring, gas chromatography, leak detection and repair (LDAR), meteorological (MET) monitoring, and fence-line monitoring. We provide PSD screening analysis – significant impact and area of impact analysis; NAAQS analysis; Air Toxic Modeling – initial screening model and refined modeling; and dispersion models – AERMOD and ISCST3.

Ambient Air Monitoring

Under PSD regulations, projects involving major industrial expansion or new construction may be subject to a review of the potential impact on air quality. This review is part of the application for a construction permit. The PSD process requires both an assessment of existing baseline air quality and an estimate of additional pollution that could be contributed by the proposed construction. If no recent data are available on baseline ambient air quality, Facilities may be required to collect up to one year’s ambient air monitoring data for the regulated pollutants – before the permit application has even been submitted. In some cases, ambient air monitoring may be required after the permitted facility is constructed and operating. Eagle provides monitoring of PSD criteria pollutants (O3, NOX, SO2, CO and PM) to document compliance with these regulations. We also provide:
  • Non-methane VOC monitoring
  • In-house certification, auditing, maintenance and repair of air monitoring equipment
  • Factory-authorized repair for Thermo Electron and Teledyne API instruments
  • Summa canisters – sampling, cleaning and analysis, or contracted lab

Gas Chromatography

Eagle offers the power and flexibility of Automated Gas Chromatograph (Auto GC) sampling for VOC emissions testing of process vents, and for potential use in fenceline monitoring. We also offer the EPA-approved PerkinElmer® Clarus 500 Ozone Precursor Systems, which can analyze for up to 35 different ozone precursor compounds. Our Auto GC sampling capabilities include providing:
  • Self-contained, climate-controlled trailer units
  • Mobile enclosures, which allow rapid deployment and easy set-up anywhere in your facility
  • Unattended 24/7 operation
  • Equipment that can be configured for remote control and data archiving capabilities

Eagle can work with PerkinElmer® to adapt the system to analyze for site-specific compounds facilities using Portable and Auto-GC sampling with Perkin Elmer gas chromatographs (Autosystem XL and Clarus 500), providing remote operation and troubleshooting capability for the site, as well as data collection, analysis, and upload to website.

Meteorological (MET) Monitoring

Eagle procures, installs, and operates Meteorological (MET) Monitoring systems, which are based on a tower installed on the ground to gather data at tower height. We perform data collection, such as wind speed, wind direction, temperature, relative humidity, solar radiation, and precipitation.

Fence-line Monitoring

Eagle can provide a turnkey fenceline monitoring program for facilities. This system can provide data and detect airborne compounds to support conclusions on levels of process chemicals emanating from your specific site. Our systems can:
  • Continuously monitor for VOCs, HRVOCs and other compounds
  • Trigger canisters or other devices for sampling
  • Allow speciation of compounds through analysis
  • Provide real-time communications to a base computer

Eagle can conduct environmental audits/compliance reviews through checklists developed by our personnel based on site-specific permits or through client developed database systems.
  • Install, operate, and maintain a facilities system to best meet your needs
  • Provide pick-up and delivery of canisters or sorbent tubes for laboratory analysis
  • Manage and provide reports of data analysis and interpretation
